A Prayer for us all....

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please extend your hand of mercy and grace to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Give our leaders knowledge to provide help to the victims. Father, please work in the situation to prevent the enemy from creating dissention and confusion. Bind the forces of evil that are creating turmoil. Send forth your spirit to bring order from chaos. Protect those who are innocent victims in this tragedy.

Give those affected by the storm peace and sweet sleep tonight. Give them an awesome sense of your presence and let them see your hand at work in providing for their most basic needs. Let them look to you as their source. Protect your children and show your power and might to those who do not know you as Lord and Savior. Use this situation to bring them to salvation.

Father, show us your glory. Take what the enemy intended for evil to work good in the lives of all who were touched by the hurricane. Where there is turmoil and fear, bring peace and joy and gratefulness for the blessings that you provide. Let them look to you with thanksgiving and joy in the midst of trouble. Thank you for your protection and for bringing blessing from this situation.

Thank you for sparing those who survived the storm. Bring comfort to those who have lost family and friends. Protect their health and bring healing to those who are hurt or sick. Father, release your resources to provide for their needs. Inspire your people to reach out in compassion and mercy, and give wisdom to those who receive donations that they might be used wisely.

Father, we especially pray for the children who were affected by this situation. Father, give them hope and comfort. Provide for their every need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Father, use the situation to show us your glory, to provide evidence of your power, and to draw our hearts closer to you as we reach out in love and compassion to those affected by the storm. Father, we know that out of devastation, you bring new life. Please bring hope, love, and renewal to your people. Heal our land, restore us to you.
