Lift Rick up in Prayer!

Tomorrow my husband goes in for his one year review. Rick's boss is a classic Type A personality, with huge files on each of her staff. She marks everything down, the good and the bad but it seems like she thrives on pointing out the bad. She is known for firing people, and has the reputation of being a hard ass. Rick and her get along but............... Of course it's hard when ever someone sits and points out all your faults.

Please lift Rick up in prayer as he heads into work for this meeting tomorrow. Give him strength to hear all of his bosses words and be able to remain calm and strong. Help him to know he is so much more than this job that pays the bills. Do not let this woman beat my husband down but rather build him up.

Rick has taken on HUGE responsibility during his first year changing hats several times. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty and come through on tight deadlines. Please also pray for a nice raise as we TRULY need it!!!

Thank you for all of your prayers in advance!!!

**************** UPDATE ******************

Rick called just a little bit ago. He actually sounded chipper.. I was almost scared. He said it went surprisingly well! Hooray! Guess, I won't be needing to scrape his self esteem off the floor this weekend. Thank God. He was really warned ahead of time how bad his boss can be and how low the average raise was. I guess it's only 2% (ouch). That's not even a cost of living raise. Anyway, she mostly had all positive things to say. Only 2 negative things to continue working on his organization (but added she has seen drastic improvement in this area from 6 months ago) and also his copy writing skills (which he is the first to admit he is very weak in this area. He's an artist not a writer). Everything else was praise.. From how hard he works, to being dependable, and what a great job he has done etc!!!! NOW.... As for the raise, Rick worked last night printing all kinds of data out that showed how he is way below the average for his job title for the state. She was very receptive to everything and said she would have done the same thing in his shoes (phew). Her original raise was 4% (so 2% higher than the average). BUT.. She is taking his paper work and going to her boss to fight for him to get more money. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not a yes... But hey at least she's going to bat for him which we totally did not expect. THANK YOU for all of your prayers... Rick said he felt very strong and sure of himself going in so they must have worked!!!

Hope it went well! Those can be very nerve-wracking, depending on your boss. Maybe you guys will be celebrating a raise this weekend!!

FANTASTIC!! It's nice to have a boss whose willing to support you. I only had that once and it made working there a blessing.

Take care during this nasty weather. It's supposed to be a category three this afternoon/tonight when it gets here, so just be safe.
